Gathering Worshippers of Christ

What if the word of God is taught by a living prophet today. The Bible has stories of prophets who lived since Adam and Eve. It is full of faith promoting stories of prophets and people who followed God and the blessings they received when they did.
But what about today? Is there a living prophet to guide the people of our day? What would he say?
Every six months on the first weekend of April and October worshippers of Christ gather for this very purpose. It is called the General Conference of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It is televised, live-streamed, and recorded for people to watch all over the world.
This two day conference is filled with music sung by children and youth choirs of the church and by the Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square. Listeners are treated with messages from a living prophet, apostles, and church leadership.
Their inspired messages teach ways to have peace and happiness in our often confusing world.
I look forward to this wonderful conference so much! I love the spirit it brings into my home. I can tell I am listening to truth. I can tell their words are words of Christ. I feel God’s love for me in their messages.
I can tell what they say is right because family is important. All of God's children are important. And I am a child of God.
I enjoy General Conference because I can see the light. I can see things I need to do. It gives me hope.
We know life is about becoming who God needs us to be. We know that involves changing. I am grateful to know we can change for the better. The words and counsel in this conference help me to do so!
