Soul Contentment

No one likes to feel like they are on a roller coaster ride all day long or in a tornado. Or how about the feeling described in Isaiah 3:16 “Moreover the Lord saith, Because the daughters of Zion are haughty, and walk with stretched forth necks and wanton eyes, walking and mincing as they go, and making a tinkling with their feet …”
No one enjoys that feeling! So let’s get rid of it!
The best way to get rid of that feeling is daily scripture reading.
This is the way I do it.
I set my alarm for 6 a.m. It’s very early for me. I actually put my phone with the alarm set on the bathroom counter. When it rings I’m on my feet!
I have a special three ring notebook I like to write in and my favorite pen that I use to make notes with. I grab those and my scriptures from my nightstand.
I have a special place in my house that I like to sit that feels open and airy to me. When it’s light outside I open the curtains. If it’s cool I open a window or door. (What can I say, it makes me happy!)
Now it’s time to study scriptures! I have an actual plan. My plan right now involves reading from different books of scriptures on different days.
I use my notebook to write verses that stand out to me and thoughts about them. Sometimes ideas come to me and I write them down though they may seem off topic. I always date my entries.
I end my study with prayer.
A little time with God each day makes all the difference!
